How elections will be implemented

Armenian Global Unity Development Council is a temporary organizing institution that was created with the goal of having every one of you, without exception, cast your votes to elect and establish a supreme National body, a structure that will give the Diaspora an identity through your direct participation.
  1. By becoming a member of Pan Armenian Unity, every Armenian will have immediate and direct participation in the election and subsequent work of the supreme National body.

  2. It is extremely important for every Armenian individual and family to become a member, because the election of delegates and the governing body as well as the number of people elected will directly depend on and will be relative to the number of members.

  3. If you are a member of any organization, association, or church, you have the option of mentioning your affiliation at the time you registered as participant of Pan Armenian Unity. By mentioning your affiliation, you would indirectly but greatly increase the probability that a candidate representing your organization, association, or church will be on the list of delegates standing for election, and also, eventually, the list of people elected to the supreme body. For example, if you’re a member of any organization and wish to mention this fact when you become a member of Pan Armenian Unity, then in the future, when it’s time to elect delegates and you visit your personal page on the Pan Armenian Unity website, you will see a list of candidates who represent your organization, and from this list you will vote for the candidate of your choice. Organizations, associations, and churches will submit their lists of candidates to Pan Armenian Unity prior to the elections.

  4. If you wish to join Pan Armenian Unity as an independent, without mentioning any organization, association, or church, you can do so by pressing the appropriate button on the online membership page or checking the appropriate box on the printed version of the Membership Form.

  5. When it’s time to vote, a person who has joined Pan Armenian Unity as an independent, neutral member will be able to represent his preferred candidate by mentioning the latter’s name on the Voting page. Thus, by representing that candidate, the independent member will automatically be voting for that candidate. Subsequently, when the votes are counted, the candidate represented by independent members who receives the majority of votes will be elected a delegate.

  6. After you become a participant, you will be provided with a Global Hay Certificate, thus being recognized as the World Armenian Citizen .

  7. Pan Armenian Unity will do everything possible to notify members about the day and time that elections will take place. Elections are planned to be held once every two years. However, this timetable is open to discussion and might be revised.

  8. Pan Armenian Unity will hold its first online election as soon as the number of members from throughout the globe reaches approximately 10,000. Thus, in the first place, members will vote for delegates, as stated in items 4 and 6 above. The lists of candidates running for the position of delegate will be posted on the Election page.

  9. The number of delegates to be elected by a majority of votes is not pre-determined. For instance, there might be 350 elected delegates, or more, depending on the total number of registered members.

  10. Delegates should elect the national representatives of the world diaspora from among them, there may be 25 or more representatives. National representatives in their turn choose an executive board from among themselves.

  11. Thus, with the elective voice of the Diaspora, there will be created an important body representing the Diaspora’s identity – a supreme National structure which will implement a wide range of projects dedicated to the development and defense of Armenia and Artsakh, as well as the preservation of the Diaspora’s identity and the fulfillment of its needs.
Immediately following the establishment of the supreme National body, Pan Armenian Unity will cease to operate, because it has neither the authority nor any personally motivated interest to continue beyond that point. Rather, its sole purpose is to organize and implement activities that will culminate in the creation of a supreme National body.
